Hello...17 years ago I was given a ticket for not getting off the beach and paying to get back on in point pleasent....I did not go to court and pay the fine...16 years later I was a passenger in a car when the police pulled us over , they then saw this incident and arrested me and gave me a ticket for $4oo...Is there not A statute of limitations on this?? Or do I need to pay the fine...P.S. I never was sent any information to my house for the 17 years

there is no statute of limitations upon the defendant's failure to appear in court to answer a summons. you are subject to an arrest warrant and a fine for 'contempt of court' in addition to the fine for not getting off the beach. we can help you mitigate the consequences. the new computer systems are causing these cases to be 'discovered'. we did ten cases in the last two weeks. ed dimon, esq.
