More details to this question:
unemployment is saying they made a mistake and I need to pay money back. Icollected for 6 months and they are saying my extension after that was a mistake. HELP!
these cases are 'fact sensitive'. what was the mistake which was made ? you should have written documentation from nj. you have the right to appeal and you have the right to a hearing with an attorney. ed dimon, esq.
Its hard to tell from the information provided. you need to look at the unemployment provided and why it was extended. If the facts regarding the extension are incorrect, then they should not have granted the extension. you can apply to have a hardship waiver of the amounts given and appeal their determination that the unemployment was given in error. you will also be given a period of time in which to pay if those appeals fail.
