QUESTION

What Type of Attorney Do I need for my Current Situation?

Asked on Jul 13th, 2011 on Civil Rights - Oregon
More details to this question:
I have been defrauded by my ex-girlfriend for approximately $190.000. On the surface, this may appear like a typical dispute between a couple over money which would normally fall under family law. There are so many details to this story, it is hard to summarize easily. But after a year of doing my own investigative work, and with the help of some sympathetic Police Officer's, I can now say with that I am the victim of a professional victim who has enlisted an entourage of friends who worked together over a period of years to set me up and steal my life savings. there is a current criminal investigation on going but I am now getting ready to go after her(them) civilly. I have come to learn that my ex has done this before to other men and some of the same friends were involved to some degree as well. It appears that she has honed her craft from the past and I now am the biggest score to date. Drugs and money are the two main motivating factors. What type of attorney do I need?

This is a fraud case on the surface. A closer look and more facts may uncover claims such as conversion, intentional infliction of emotional distress, etc. Contact a litigation attorney. Many personal injury attorneys do these types of cases so that would be a good place to start. This response is general in nature and is not legal advice.  No attorney client relationship is formed by it.  Further, the response does not represent the opinions or views of LexisNexis or its affiliated companies.
