QUESTION

Can I

Asked on Apr 18th, 2023 on Libel, Slander and Defamation - Florida
More details to this question:
Condominium Board. A director has accused me of filing a complaint to the county on a homeowner, thus putting his license in jeopardy. I found out via an email from another homeowner, accusing me of filing said complaint. I spoke with the individual who has acknowledged that is what he was told directly from the board member. He has not received any notice from the country nor could I find any record of a complaint recorded. Since said accusation is not related to board business, I would like to sue this individual for defamation/slander to stop this contentious and vitriol behavior.

You will need to retain a lawyer to review the circumstances and facts to get a useful answer to this. It will be a complicated determination as there will defenses raised such as board immunities etc and such cases are notoriously expensive and contentious.
