Defamation, Libel and emotional distress

More details to this question:
Elderly father (84) died last year. Elderly mother (87) has medical issues. 3 siblings Brother A (55) and twins, Brother B and Sister (both almost 50). Brother B spreading vicious rumors about Brother A and sister including accusations of stealing by both and rape by elder brother of sister 40 years ago) This is causing emotional distress and also affecting health of elderly mother. It is starting to affect Brother A and sister's marriages and causing harm to our relationship to our mothers and those he told lies to.Brother B is alcoholic and probably has Narcissistic Personality Disorder.

If the "vicious rumors" are false, and Brother B eithers knows that they are false or should know that they are false, then Brother A and Sister likely have a valid cause of action against Brother B for slander.  These are very serious allegations Brother B is making, which can cause great harm to Brother A's and Sister's reputations, so I would suggest you sit down and speak with a defamation lawyer about your options.
