QUESTION

Defamation of Character

Asked on Jul 07th, 2020 on Libel, Slander and Defamation - New Jersey
More details to this question:
A few days ago, the PTA president of my daughters school made a racist remark on Facebook. She asked since my son is 50% Latino, should he be called a rapist? I was in shock that this lady just compared Latinos to rapists, but she justified it by saying she was just saying what the president says. This offended my 100% Latino greatly, but her friends jumped on and went all in on me at first, calling me a bad mother over and over. This post is on a very prominent member of the community Facebook page, so now she has everyone else against us, even losing friends. I’m looking for someone who can look at all the screenshots and tell me if I have something. Thank you!

Libel and Slander cases are fact sensitive. We would need to review the messages. If they are not Libel or Slander, we can determine if there can be a negotiated settlement between the parties. We have just negotiated tow similar situations. This is often the better path. Please call immediately. Ed Dimon, Esq. 732-797-1600 ext 235
