i had an employee that was terminated and called my corporate office saying un-true things about me and also have forwarded text message against my caracter.

If they said things that are untrue that hurt your reputation, yes, you very well may have a case for defamation of character. Please note that in Pennsylvania, any action on defamation has a one-year statute of limitations.
