QUESTION

Do I have a libel claim against a newspaper for mis reporting the facts

Asked on Jun 24th, 2015 on Libel, Slander and Defamation - Pennsylvania
More details to this question:
A newspaper maliciously report a shooting that never happened witness statement was intentionally misreported my name address and license plate number was published.. The plate number was published after the car was impounded. I have been humiliated by this false account of events people come by the house looking and pointing everyone talking about my daughter shot someone in a drive by there was no evidence at all suggesting a shooting. This paper tends to embellish on the facts and has pending defamation suits against them.

You may very well have a case.  The chief question is whether the story was false or not.  If one or a couple of facts are wrong, but the story is substantially true, then you still have no case provided the "sting" of the misreported information is not materially greater.  These issues are very fact specific.  You should consult with a defamation attorney in your area about these issues.
