How do I get false personal information removed from website when all requests are unanswered?

More details to this question:
If someone posts false information about me on their website and despite me continually requesting the information be removed, they do not remove it, do I have any legal recourse and what might it cost?

Whether there is legal recourse will depend on the information and the nature of the website and the cost will generally be relative to the nature and amount of legal work needed for the effort.
