I walked out of a Kava bar because their drink made me sick with the intention of coming back the next day to pay my tab. The very next morning I received calls and messages that my face and personal info was plastered all over social media saying I stole and they were going to find me and "take care of me" they also put a reward of $500 for someone who could bring me in to them or give them my where abouts. Also got pictures from a friend that they put up posters around lake worth with my face and $500 reward for me. Have gotten hate messages and have been confronted on the street countless times. Almost lost my job because it was plastered on Delray raw as well. I've been completely humiliated, harassed, verbally assaulted, and defamed all over $37 dollars. They have been payed back for over a month I had my brother come down to pay my tab because I feared for my safety. But nothing has been taken down and harassment continues. Do I have a case?
Hmmmmmm there is OBVIOUSLY something else goin on here as these facts and the victimization make ZERO sense. That said, if the debt was fully paid, its hard to understand why all of this went on, especially since it should have ended the next day when you returnd and paid your tab. Now is where you respond with "well wha ha happen whuz....". Regardless, this may be a collections practices violation at several levels if what you are saying is actually and accurately true. You should consult with a consumer lawyer in that regard if you like.
