Is it slander for the state to put false information on your arrest log

More details to this question:
My husband got arrested recently he's never been in trouble before his charges were agg battery without intent but they put online that he failed to register as a sex offender he has never had a charge like that never even been accused of something like that now friends and family think he's a pedophile and he's losing customers please tell me what I can do to help him

It could be - but there are a number of complications here. If he was charged as such, there may be information the state has that is either incorrect or confused with someone else with a similar name or alias. He will need to have his criminal lawyer sort this out ASAP and then go from there.
