QUESTION

Is this legal

Asked on May 11th, 2016 on Libel, Slander and Defamation - Florida
More details to this question:
About 18 months ago I was at a party, some people were doing lines, i did a couple myself, without knowing some one was taking pictures, until weeks later. Well that someone recently got pissed at me and sent the pics to my work, family and friends. Nothing became of it but being totally humiliated. Still have my job and I have no secrets with my family. I'm in my 50's and i can count on one hand how many times I've done coke. The pics were sent alone, no note or anything and no return address. I don't think there is a way to prove that person was the one to send them. My question is, is this legal? Can I try to press charges?

Being humiliated with your own conduct is simply your own problem and the price you pay for poor decison making and action. There may be some potential for a claim of "intentional infliction of emotional distress" butthis may complicated by your engaging in criminal activity. You may want to retain a lawyer immediately or contact law enforcement if you feel this was some sort of threat or extortion attempt, so they can arrange for fingerpriniting of the pictures. THis may help ID the individual.
