Libel question

More details to this question:
My husband and I live in a condo with HOA. We have a dispute over front door... which is still I process of resolving. Apparently few weeks ago manager came to our door to try to change the door. She was not successful at opening the door - we have two lock, both electronic dial. Then she claimed that the door was lock from the inside. This message was given to ... I guess her supervisor and HOA Board. I only found out about it, when we received a letter from HOA’s attorney’s. They wrote that it came to their attention that me or my husband, or both locked ourselves in the unit not allowing change of the disputed door. Now: it’s totally fabricated. Neither me or my husband were home at that time. My husband is away on business for past several weeks and I was at work. Also. Besides even if the door was locked from the inside, the combination lock would open it after entering code from the outside. This manufactured story is in official communications. What can I do?

Not seeing a defamation case here. Not every lie is defamatory. You need to retain an "associations" lawyer to address this issue.
