Small claim case of slander defamation.

I'm looking for an attorney to help me to win this case. I've been accused of defamation for my ex-employer, and she is demanding 1,200 from me. I not only want to clear this up, but also I refuse to pay that amount because that accusation is false. It's very hard to find an attorney for this small case, so I need a recommendation in my area.
