Asked on Jul 28th, 2014 on Libel, Slander and Defamation - Florida
More details to this question:
Im being told that I have a warrant for my arrest in NY for driving with a suspended license which was taken care of in 2010. I had a lawyer take care of the warrent and case because i was living in Florida at the time. I recently applied to a job and I was denied the position because I was told that my background check came back saying I had a warrant out for my arrest. I called the clerks office and they to said I have a warrant out for my arrest. Now, my question is if I have court documents proving I had this situation taken care of, can I sue the clerks office for defamation of character?
