a homeowner is demanding a refund for a completed bathroom remodel?

More details to this question:
Im a G.C and I did a small bathroom remodel for a client,($7,500).the project is done. a few months later H.O is unhappy with some minor details on the shower pan, some texture on the wall,etc. nothing major,all is just cosmetic issues and Im willing to go fix it for him. but he wants all his money back. He sent a certified letter requesting a full refund, what should I do? thanks!

Write back offering to address the "cosmetic issues."   If the HO accepts your offer, when you return make sure you take pictures showing the "before and after" conditions as well as any other issues you think might arise. Then you will have some good evidence if the HO later decides to take you to court. If the HO does not accept your offer to repair, document that fact in a letter as well.  It will show the judge that you were being reasonable in offering to address the claimed defects and that the HO refused. Unless you performed the work as an unlicensed contractor, I seriously doubt that the HO would ever be entitled to a "full refund" for the work performed.  Good luck.
