contractors balance and leins

More details to this question:
I had hired a contractor when the job was done I ended up paying him a certain amount I received a call from the lien company they told me they were putting a lien on my house because the supplies for my roof were not paid for I received a call from the contractor he told me I still owed him money and that he paid off the supplies do I need a lawyer

Unfortunately, this is not that uncommon.  A homeowner pays the general contractor but later receives a lien notice.  Yes, if your home has been liened or if the contractor is now pursuing you for more than the contract amount you should hire an attorney to help you remove the lien and/or protect you from a money judgment.
