When an Independent Contractor is suing us what we have to do?

We hired an Independent Contractor that he is suing us as a regular Employee. When I hired him i explained to him what was to work as an Independent Contractor. Now he's Playing like he doesn't know. He only worked for us for 4 Months. I Please I need an Attorney that represent us in our small business. Thank you so much.
