Hi there, I bought a directory license from a software website this week. The license cost 3997 and it was stated on the site as LIFE TIME LICENSE. I paid before they sent me the terms and conditions. Then when I asked for a receipt they sent me an invoice stating "Recurring one year subscription" I began investigating the company which is supposed to be based in California and cant find records of it on search engines. I then started searching the web for reviews etc but all looked positive. I then found a forum with someone stating that they would stop working with them as brilliant directories insisted on hosting their directory. In addition, they have full control of the directories, meaning that they could infact bill members without us knowing. I became very concerned and e mailed them about both the invoice and the hosting. They sent me an updated invoice stating full licence with no more payments. However I don't see their company details on it, ie, tax number etc. I also

This story is rather disjointed and it would make more sense to speak to an attorney over the phone.  At a minimum, you should read your terms and conditions contract and request a full or partial refund.  If it is denied, then you definitely need to speak to any attorney.
