QUESTION

Did I buy a stolen car?

Asked on Aug 28th, 2013 on Consumer Fraud - Florida
More details to this question:
Earlier this week I traded my Jetta in for a BMW plus $750 cash. Afterwards I realized there was a ton problems with my new car [windows don't work, leaks, check engine light etc.] I know that was my own, stupid, fault so I wasn't mad at all about that. They told me they would give me the title later in the day, and they didn't. "tomorrow for sure", "it'll take 24 hours", "we sent in for it, you'll have it tomorrow" I've called them every day since I traded the car. Still no title. I also brought up that there were two names on the car when I traded it, mine "AND" another, not mine "OR" the salesman told me "not to worry about it" and so only I signed. Today at work a friend of mine informed me that in Florida [I just moved here] they should've been able to give me the title right then and there. I looked up the VIN online and it says that there wasn't any activity with the title since 2005. Could this mean they didn't own the car? Again, I "should have the title today" Help me!!

Sounds like you have several issues to look at, which invovles trying to undo the deal, and you will likely need an attorney to help you with this. However, this will typically involve hiring the lawyer at an hourly rate and retainer. We do provide this type of representation. 1-800-922-6442.
