QUESTION

Do I have any recourse with Vivint to cancel my account.

Asked on Sep 10th, 2013 on Consumer Fraud - Texas
More details to this question:
Vivint salesman told my wife that we could cancel with valid ETS or PCS orders. Now, a year later, they are refusing. My wife signed the contract for me (I never wanted the system), even though she did not have power of attorney (I was deployed to Afghanistan at the time). The salesman told my wife to lie to the installers and tell them we owned the home. When my wife began telling the installers we actually rent the home, he stepped in and reassured them we owned it. My wife felt uncomfortable standing up to him, and let it go.

The terms of the contract signed with Vivint determine whether or not you can cancel the service with valid deployment orders. Many contracts (particularly for housing) allow people to break them upon the receipt of ETS orders. The contract has to specifically state that this is allowed, hower. Do you still have the agreement signed by your wife? Those terms and conditions determine what your rights are concerning this service.
