QUESTION

Fraud: recovering money

Asked on Jul 05th, 2016 on Consumer Fraud - Florida
More details to this question:
I was working with someone locally to develop a music video for a song that I have recorded. The person confirmed that he was able to get Indigo Productions to develop the video for $7,500 and provided a contract that looks legit with the company logo on it. He asked me to make a deposit of $6,500 towards the production of the video which I did in 3 payments ($500, $3,000, $3,000). The video was supposed to shoot on may 28th, 2016 and it did not happen. I had a scheduled vacation on June 8th and after my vacation I contacted Indigo Productions to find out the status of the video. I asked them for the person that I sent the deposit to and they informed me that no one works for the company by that name. Furthermore, they told me that they I have no contract for me to develop a music video. I've been trying to get my money back to no avail. I only have the person name and bank account number. The person that I deposited the money to live in NY. What are my options to recover my deposits?
