QUESTION

Half job done, Worth seeking reimbursement?

Asked on Apr 07th, 2016 on Consumer Fraud - Tennessee
More details to this question:
I had some dental work done in July 2015. Veneers on two front teeth. These were permanent structures that were adhered to my own teeth after they had been permanently shaved down. One of the veneers popped off while I was taking a sip out of a straw in February 2016, 7 MONTHS after they were placed. I work in a different city than where I had the dental work done so I was told that the dental office would only be responsible for correcting their mistake if I came to them. I had to take off of work two days to fly there to have the veneer placed back on my tooth. I returned to the city that I work in later that day and 6 days later the same veneer came right back off. I immediately called the dental office, was received poorly by the receptionist and my call was not returned until the end of the following day. The dentist was not the least bit apologetic and told me that he would not reimburse me for having to come out of my pocket AGAIN for the bad work that he did and did not care.

From a legal perspective, the dentist is liable to put it back. However, at this point do you really trust him to do it correctly? Probably not! Even though it might cost you more money, I would find somebody else to work on it in a more convenient location. Not worth the trouble.
