After no help I finally figured out why I owed them money and paid them in 2010. Come to find out, the State put a lien on me for what was owed. Then somehow the credit report found out and updated there info. This have affected my credit about 200 point. This seems very unfair, and odd that it effects my credit so much, but it does. I am looking for some help. BretJMarinko@hotmail.com I live in OHIO but the state lien is from CA.

Update Your Profile
Call the state of California Franchise Tax board (FTB) and ask them to update the public record and show that the lien was paid.  Ask FTB to give you a letter as proof. Then dispute the entry with the credit bureaus and send letter as proof.  It takes persistence to clear credit.  So youmay have to dispute the claim more than once.  It can take 60 to 90 days.
