is it worth hiring a lawyer when your ID is stolen

More details to this question:
I filed my 2014 taxes and was told someone had used my social security to file a claim. IRS was notified went through it all with them and they sent a letter stating that my SS# was used illegally and I am a victim of fraud. I would like to know who this person is to press charges if its worth it or will IRS take action?

So would everyone else. Unless they are found and prosecuted, thats the end of that inquiry.
