QUESTION

Is this Illegal? Lemon car.

Asked on Feb 02nd, 2015 on Consumer Fraud - Florida
More details to this question:
My boyfriend bought a car from a buy here pay here dealership- as is no warranty, however the NEXT day the car broke down. He took it back they fixed it. This happened two more times and this last time he asked them why the transmission was making so much noise when he went to pick up the car from their mechanic. He told him it would "go away" and it was fine and if the car tore up they'd fix it for free. Well the cars axel and the engine dropped when my boyfriend went to back it out today. If he had been going above 30 he would've lost control of the car. They sold him a dangerous car. When he bought it the only thing they said was wrong with it was that an oil pan was busted which he got replaced shortly after purchasing the car.

Lemon law does not apply to used cars. As-is means as is - unless there is some evidence of fraud or violatoin of Fla. Stat. 501.975.
