More details to this question:
I put down a deposit for a few hours of a Physical therapy session and now need to cancel due to time and financial reasons. I called and they said the deposit is non refundable, and I saw this on the receipt, which I only got AFTER I gave my card and it was charged. How can I get my deposit back?

You likely don't. If its non-refundable and you simply changed your mind late, thats why such provisions exist. That it says it on the reciept and you said nothing at the time when you signed it is a problem. You can try to dispute this with your credit card company and see what they can do, but don't hold your breath.
