More details to this question:
I RENTED A LIVING ROOM SOFA FROM RENT A CENTER IN JULY 2015, I HAVE MADE PAYMENTS, ON TIME, EVERY MONTH TOTALING $200 A MONTH. THIS EQUALS $1,600. I CALLED YESTERDAY TO FIND OUT HOW MORE WEEKS I HAVE TO PAY ON IT AND HE TOLD ME 54!!!! YOU CAN IMAGINE MY SHOCK ! THAT WOULD BE A GRAND TOTAL OF $4300! WHAT CAN I DO WITHOUT HAVING TO RETURN MY COUCH, SINCE I ALREADY HAVE $1600 IN IT, AND NOT PAY THEM THIS RIDICULOUS AMOUNT?

Nothing. You have a contract andits terms control. THIS is the problem with renting to own things you simply cant afford otherwise to maintain a lifestyle or appearances. Absent some form of buy out, your best bet is to reeturn the item and buy something you can actually afford.
