There were no visible signs in a very empty parking lot that happened to be a private lot adjacent to the back of a grocery store-as I came to find out after . A police officer came out after i called 911 2x because I believed my car stolen. the officer did make notations that signs were barely visible and 0- lighting. A man saw me upset that was also parked in the lot at 10:45 pm his car was there for a whole hour before my vehicle and he also had no idea it was a private lot.(i have his contact info) this man commented "why did they take your car and not mine if I was here longer?" I had no answer...then he asked me "what year my car was I said 2012 Honda he said oh mine is a 2005 Honda your car is more valuable"he drove me to tow yard which was closed, I called the number on sign the tower came it was 11p he said $385 for my car. I had less then $10 in my wallet no cards nothing I opened my whole purse as I begged him to let me justgo home to my 2 kids. My car was towed within 40m.
How long were you parked? If less than one hour (or if they cannot prove you were there longer than one hour) then you should win automatically. Also, if the signs are not properly displayed and of the right size, but you would need to take pictures. I might be interested in taking your case if the one hour rule was violated.
