QUESTION

3 day contract cancellation

Asked on Jan 25th, 2015 on Consumer Law - New Jersey
More details to this question:
Entered into a contract assuming I have three days to review. During my review a section state if I cancel within three days, I would be hit with 21% of the cost of the contract even if not service has been provided. Is this legal, I though the intent of then three day is to get a full understanding of all the stipulation within the contract.

If there is a written clause stating that you have three days to cancel the contract, then you have three days to cancel the contract with no penalty. The devil is in the details. What did the contract say about the three day period? What did the contract say how about a cancellation during the three-day period? We can review and provide you with a written legal opinion. The costwould be minimal. Please call if we can help.
