More details to this question:
My wife and I were in Europe last year. She is a Philippines citizen with a US green card and needed a special visa - and flights within Europe that did not require additional customs checks. Liberty Travel (N.Y. office but company based in N.J.) knew this when booking us onto a flight (Paris-Rome) that didn't fit that criteria. After travel agent's 24-hour hotline proved useless, we had to book on our own replacement flight and were out $941.12 not to mention a full day stuck in an airport. Agent has not responded to previous requests for reimbursement. Tuesday, July 22, marks one year since we paid for the package (travel was last October). Since they've given us the bum's rush throughout, we'd like to seek damages, but minimally want our $941.12 back + forgoing fees.
