QUESTION

Can I do something about unwanted emails?

Asked on Sep 19th, 2016 on Consumer Law - Florida
More details to this question:
Someone used my email address at a retail store and I have been receiving emails since. I called their customer service to make sure my identity was not breached. They helped me by opting me out of receiving ANY emails. But, the emails continues. I personally opted out on their website site twice and the emails continue. I have screenshots of the opt out verification. I was told each email can cost them $1500. It's time to pursue legal action.

This likely a Can-Spam case and you generally cannot file a priviate civil suit. You canfile a complaint with the FTC/CFPB and see if that hep.
