QUESTION

Can I legally take my car.

Asked on Mar 04th, 2023 on Consumer Law - Florida
More details to this question:
My controlling boyfriend had me pick up his car that was serviced at a mechanic shop and leave mine. I only wanted an oil change and my ac looked at to see why it was blowing hot. I never spoke to the mechanic and im the only one on the title. Well my boyfriend had $2000 worth of repairs done to my car without my consent or authorization. Ive been without my car for over a month now cause they want me to pay 2000 for repairs I NEVER WANTED IN THE FIRST PLACE. He knew he didnt have that kind of money right now so he did that so I wouldnt have my car.

No. You will need to get this resolved with the repair shop before they sell your car to pay for the repairs.  If there is a controversy you will need to retain a lawyer to address this ASAP.
