QUESTION

dealer damaged vehicle while performing repair

Asked on Apr 02nd, 2016 on Consumer Law - Florida
More details to this question:
We had our 2001 gmc senoma towed to the dealership for repair. It was driven on and off the tow truck and into the repair bay. The dealership confirmed it was the water pump, and repair was authorized. They called back and said the new pump was installed, they let it run to test it, and the car overheated, blowing the engine. They now want us to pay for the repairs and tow the destroyed vehicle home. What is my recourse?

You'll need to have the engine torn down and see what caused the damage to the engine with an independent expert. If it was the repair shop you may need to sue them or make a clain against thier insurance. The fact that the vehicle was driven before the repair does not mean that there was not engine damage already and this needs to be addressed.
