Do I have to pay for under collected insurance premiums

More details to this question:
My Employer Seminole County Government has sent me a notice saying that they under collected for my short term disability insurance over the past 3 years and that they will take it from my pay over the next two pay periods. The letter informing of this was postmarked on the 17th the next pay period is the 24th, they sent no itemized report of what the payments were vs. what they should have been, gave me no payment options, I've never even used the insurance.

There is no clear answer to this as there is a wide variety of facts to be considered. Bigger issue is to determine how much the cost was, as it may not be worth risking your job over.
