QUESTION

Do I have to pay shipping charges for something I didn't order?

Asked on May 21st, 2013 on Consumer Law - Florida
More details to this question:
I am registered with this service called myus.com which provide a service for non-US residents to have a US adress for buying things you usually don't get in your home country. They then forward the things you bought to your adress in your country. Now, I was contacted a couple of days ago when they informed me that I had a package waiting to be shipped. I never order this package. I immediately contacted them and told them that they had made a mistake and they said that the y would look into it. Almost a week has passed and I haven't heard anything. Today I get an email saying that if I don't have my packages shipped, they would start charging a dollar holding fee for everyday I didn't have the package shipped. I am foreign and I don't know your laws (the firm is based in Florida). Now my question is: do I have to pay shipping charges for something I didn't order?

No way to tell. Part of the problem is you are in another country and using a  service to skirt regulations in your country or to dupe sellers into sellng to you under false pretenses. That said, it wouldnt surprise me that a company used for this purpose would be shady. You may need to contact a lawyer in your country to address part of this issue.
