Homeowner assocaiation

More details to this question:
received letter saying owing money for home association dues or lien will be placed on my property-many residents have asked to see the files kept by the association and was denied- Many residents have not paid due to the fact what was promised to us when we moved in has not been done- association is more of a group of people who if they don't like you or what you have on your property , they send out notices- I want to see proof that the ones on the association committee has paid their dues themselves also - which we have been denied to see records

You would be well served to retain an attorney to help you address this issue before it gets out of control. IN the meantime,you may be well served to pay the money under protest and then take legal action to challenege the payement obligation.
