QUESTION

How do I avoid wage garnishments from a judgement creditor?

Asked on Aug 06th, 2014 on Consumer Law - Florida
More details to this question:
I was sued and received judgement (lien) for credit card debt in 2009. Today I was told by my employer pay roll that I will have my paychecks garnished, which I assume is the aforementioned credit card debt. I am a college student and the paychecks in question are from working as a student employee (money source not federal). How, if possible, can I object the creditor's execution of collection? I have not received any information from the creditors, only from my employer payroll.

Unless you have a legally recognized exemption, your obligations will trump your financial inconvenience. Only other option would be bankruptcy or some form of settlement.
