I need to know the steps of filing a civil lawsuit on my ex fiancé. He stole my vehicle that I had towed to the dealerships to get new tires&checkup done. I spoke to the T-truck company that afternoon and they confirmed it's safely at the dealership. I called the dealership the following day and they never had anything in their system of my car ever being there. TowTruck company lied at First later on advised me of my car being left in the back lot with the key fob inside the car&the "co-owner"picked it up He did not pay for that car never put any money into it. I was in the middle of moving out of my girlfriends house in Naples so all my belongings were packed inside my car. My wallet with my DL debit card&cash along with wardrobe etc. I lost my job due to not having the supplies/products i was responsible for&inability to make it to work on time. My car and the contents inside of it is everything i own my ex fiancé is a millionaire&has no reason other than being malicious
If it was his car also - i.e. his being on the title, then there is no "theft." That stated, if he was not on the title, this shoudl be reported to law enforcement where he should be arrested for theft. The bigger issue is why would you have a car towed to a dealer for maintenance crammed with all that stuff in the first place? There is much more to this than related and that may impact y our ability to retain a lawyer to pursue this issue, starting with how the EX knew where the vehicle was to pick it up to start start with. Otherwise, you will simply need to plan on spending some money to hire a lawyer to address these issues and possibly file a replevin lawsuit.
