I purchased a gas fireplace and had faulty installation and product is there a statute to file to recover the cost?

I purchased a gas fireplace and had it installed it exploded. Them they replace parts, it still as not worked right. It was a floor model sold to me as new, serial number scrapped off. My question is there a statute of limitations on the amount of time I can take to small claims to get my money refunded. it's been 3 years. My remote doesn't work the fan is noisy..on and on...please help
