QUESTION

Private student Loan Dispute.

Asked on Jul 18th, 2014 on Consumer Law - Florida
More details to this question:
I am in contact with an attorney that claims they will dispute my Private student loan debt. The manner in which they do it has me sceptical. They say to pay them monthly while the loans are in dispute. About 350 a month. After about 3 years or so they will either fail and I will pay the student loans again or they will be successful and I will no longer pay student loans but continue paying the attorney until the 25k is paid off. I want to be certain that If I don't pay on my loans during the time of the dispute that my loans will not gain in interest. The attorney claims if they fail to get a full dismissal of the debt they will negotiate a settlement and lower interest rate. I'm concerned this is a scam and want to make sure that if I take this road I'm not gonna be stuck paying salle Mea even more than what I owe now along with destroying my credit. How can I protect myself against fraud or shady business practice here.
