QUESTION

Realty company access credit without consent

Asked on Oct 20th, 2014 on Consumer Law - Florida
More details to this question:
When i moved into my duplex I worked with a realty company and had my lease signed through them. They were also attempting to sell the property. Recently the property was sold and now another realty company has taken over. I have NOT signed another lease nor any other document. I like to keep tabs on my credit and I noticed there was an "inquiry" a company who does background and credit checks for employers or landlords had run my credit and now this realty company has put a "installment loan" on my credit. Is this legal? What can I do?

No way to tell without a propert review of the paperwork, though its hard to fathom how a lease agreement is an installment loan in general. If you have additional concerns, we do offer FREE initial consultations at 1-800-922-6442, to determine if we can provide further assistance.
