More details to this question:
I worked for them under no contract for a few weeks and then i worked for them under contract one day. Isimply asked for payment that was due and they said there was an error with payment, then they didnt want to pay. I simply checked the site where we had the files and all of a sudden i recieve a text i will be billed for damages. They claim i deleted files from the website. He said they were gonna investigate to take legal action. I have all files i have done on record and i am ready to comply with anything to prove my innocence. I also have papers i have to turn in and i dont want to do it without legal representation.

Its the " I simply checked the website" issue, especially AFTER a payment dispute arises and the job is done, that causes such problems. You would be wise to retain counsel to help you address this and hopefully avoid litigation.
