am I liable as a reference to a contract

More details to this question:
I allowed myself to be used as reference to a contract between at&t and a neice in florida, I live california. The neice defaulted on the contract and now at&t have come after me for payment, and refuse to send me copy of the contract so I can dispute the agreement.

As a general matter, no one is liable for the debts of another in the absence of a signed writing. Why don't you simply ignore this attempt to collect from you? You may lawfully do so.
