QUESTION

Can a car dealership ask for more money

Asked on Nov 05th, 2020 on Breach of Contract - West Virginia
More details to this question:
I was looking yesterday at a new car, asked what I could get for my trade. They called, gave me an amount for my trade, told them I would be there today to buy the car. Signed all the paperwork, I handed them a check for the difference, they gave me the keys and I drove off. 45 minutes to 1 hour later they called said I needed to go back in either to pay more money or to take my old car back. Is this legal? They said they made a mistake on the trade in value of the car I was trading. Is this legal?

Can they "ask" for mor emoney?  Anybody can ask for anything.  But assuming that you had a valid contract, you have no obligation to give ti to them.
