I am from Ontario, Canada (the list would not allow me to choose it under state/province). We are in an established marina and for many years they have winter stored our boats (more than 100+ boats). It is time for winter storage and the marina does not know if they will store the boats this year. This service was always provided in the past without question. The boaters pay large fees for this service. If the marina does not store the boats people will not be able to find a place to store their boats so late in the season. Also, many boats are over 50ft and the owners do not have trailers. This last minute decision by the marina was a surprise to the boaters and very unprofessional. It is literally going to leave their customers in the cold. Is there any law that states that a marina who has always provided this service must do so and only cancel with proper notice? ...Thank you very much!
Absent an existing enforceable contract, there is no notice required to advise potential customers that they may not be serviced by the Marina, anymore than customers who choose to winter thier boats elsewhere would be sued by the Marina for taking thier business to someone else. If there is an existing contract then the terms and conditions of the agreement would be the starting point to answer this question.
