can a storage company get away with denying me access to my unit for no reason?

More details to this question:
One morning I came to my unit to retrieve some documents and other items only to find a padlock placed on my door by the company. The reason? A worker lied and said I was "resting" inside my unit. Total fabr ication. I was unable to access my belongings for four days. I missed gigs and could not honor prior commitments as a result. what can I do ?

You could sue the company, but I wouldn't do so unless, you had already given up the unit. Also, if you sue for lost income, you would have to prove same in court. In my experience, not many people are wiling to show tax returns, etc.   Gerry Wendrovsky, Esq. www.upperwestsidelawyer.com
