QUESTION

Can I be sued for a dry cleaning bill?

Asked on Dec 19th, 2013 on Breach of Contract - Florida
More details to this question:
At my job, a former employee put a very expensive jacket in a community bin. I placed my purse there and frangrace spilled, staining his jacket. I felt bad, so I offered to pay for the dry cleaning. It should be said that I had the money once. We just couldnt meet. Now I don't have the money (and he moved away) and he's coming back saying he'll take me to court and embarrass me by having me served at work. Can that really happen over an accident?

Anyone can sue, problem is he'll have to spend about $600.00 out of pocket just for filing fees and service, so he'd have to be pretty desperate to collect a dry cleaningbill that way.
