can i fire my veterans disability lawyer even though i signed a contract?

Yes, you can always fire your lawyer (except under very unusual circumstances.)  However, that doesn't mean that he/she will not be paid, even if you had a contingency fee arrangement.  Assuming that you had a ocntingency arrangement, the lawyer will be entitled to receive whatever the Court determines that the reasonable value of his/her services were worth, prior to being fired.
