My daughter would like to quit her competitive cheer team. We signed an auto draft recurring payment auth form. Is there a way to get out of it? On it, the form says fees will continue to draft until paid in full- whether or not your child continues to participate-no refunds. It is a 10 month draft that started in June and ends in March. Can't I just have my bank stop the draft? Would I be subject to collections from the cheer company?
An attorney would have to read the document to advise you as to cancellation. If you close the account, they may begin collections action against you. The best route is to talk to them and see if they will agree to let you out of the contract. Make sure you talk to the top person in charge. It may be good to also put your request in writing and explain why your daughter wants to stop participating.
